A New Year Message

The new year, the year of 2006, is coming nearer and nearer, as if we can hear it's strong steps. On this special moment, let me wish for you: keep on all those happy memories of yesterdays, and step on a bright path that leads to beautiful tomorrows. Still, let me wish for you: enjoy happiness with each sunrise, and make success in each facet of your life. Still, let me wish for you: love that never ends, and dreams that do their best to come true.

At the same season last year, I wrote a message named the PDOC, My Paradise, expressing totally the happy, pleasant and cheerful feelings with the
work and life at the PDOC. Today, I want to express the same feelings. I'm sure those are the feelings of everyone here and everybody at the PDOC. I'm sure those are the feelings we have with every sunrise at the PDOC. We are happy. We are happy because we have a great and wise Party Body headed by His Excellency Mr. Cui Jiangshui. We are happy because we are delighted to have things done and we are able to have things done. We are happy because we are put in a unified and harmonious organization.

Ladies and gentlemen, may you be happy and pleasant in the new year, the
year of 2006. I believe you will be happy and pleasant because of the reasons I have mentioned above. I heard someone say Happiness Is A Kind of Productive Force. I don't agree to put everything possible into the basket of Productive Force. However, I do agree that happiness could decide many things. It decides your health, the quality of your life and even your success. I have just read an article from News Reference dated on Dec. 21, 2005, the title of which is Success is Depends on Happiness. It says, studies show that you have to be happy first if you want to make success. It says, studies show that people are very likely to be courteous and polite, and to be ready to help others in a nation where people generally feel happy. That's why we are beginning to have a new concept of GNH when we are having the word
GDP and GNP. So, let me wish for you finally once again: happiness with each
sunrise on the earth and with everyday in the PDOC.

 

Host Speech at the English Speaking Party

Ladies and gentlemen:

Today I am very happy to be here together with you for this English-speaking party. Though it's a pity that our honorary chairman Mr. Cui Jiangshui cannot be here with us, we still have the honor to enjoy the presence of Mr. Gao Wenzhi and Mr. Zhao Jinqi, our chairman and vice chairman. We owe our thanks to the trade union of our department and our special thanks go to Ms. Liu Guifang, who has done a great deal for the successful organization of this Party. Well, when I call this
get-together an English-speaking party, I wish to send such a message: There will
be no special winners here as all the speakers will be the best and all of you will be awarded for your active participation. The purpose of this party is to promote English learning and speaking among the working staff of the department of commerce. Just as director-general Cui pointed out, the construction of a learning organization
needs devoted efforts from all sides and so does the promotion of a progressive
and healthy cultural climate.

I am happy to say that ever since the establishment of the business foreign
languages association, we have successfully organized a series of English speaking and learning activities, having strengthened exchanges among English lovers. In the principle of unity, freedom, replenishment and improvement, responding to the needs of building a learning organization and opening still wider to the outside world,
we have been trying to create a convenient platform for the whole working staff to learn and use foreign languages.

Ladies and gentlemen, the existence of the association lies in your active participation and its development lies in your improvement.
