省商务厅成立以来，十分注重建设学习型机关。去年7月，在厅党组书记、厅长崔江水同志提议下，成立了河北商务外语协会。崔江水同志亲自担任名誉会长，并在百忙中听取协会的工作汇报，对协会活动提出意见和要求。

在厅领导的亲切关怀和大力支持下，在厅机关党委、工会的支持下，一直坚持开展活动，使大家的外语水平有了一定程度的提高。12月29日，商务外语协会举办了英语演讲联谊会。大家以英语为交流语言，从不同侧面表达了在工作、学习和生活方面的感受。在演讲中，大家表示，能够在商务厅工作、学习，感觉很幸福，想干事而且能够干成事。大家普遍认为，商务厅是一个党组善治、文化先进、环境友好、人际和谐的机关，机关干部职工的幸福指数很高。在年终岁尾举办这样一个活动，既锻炼提高了大家的英语口头表达能力，又提高了大家学习英语的兴趣，同时也促进了相互了解与融合，为和谐型机关建设提供了一个很好的交流平台。

活动结束时，商务外语协会会长高文志同志用英文作了总结讲话。他指出，在商务厅这样一个涉外职能部门，坚持外语学习是一项长期任务。他希望大家要从增强特
长专能、合作共赢、和谐相处等方面素养出发，在新的一年里继续积极参加外语协会活动，为实现我省商务事业更快更好的发展作出贡献。

The PDOC has always been paying due attention to the construction of a learning organization ever since its establishment. Sponsored by director-general Cui Jiangshui, The ABFL was organized last July and Mr. Cui himself acted as the honorary chairman. He listened to the work report of the ABFL among his tight work schedule and put forward his specific requirements.

With the special care from the leading group of PDOC and supported by the Department Party Committee and trade union, the ABFL has organized a series of English learning activities, improving the English using ability of the participants to different heights. On 29th last December, the ABFL organized an English speaking Party and all the participants expressed their feelings from different facets of work, study and life. In their speeches, everyone felt happy to work and study in the PDOC where everyone is striving forward to make contributions and achievements with devoted efforts. The PDOC is a harmonious institution with a capable leading group, advanced culture and friendly climate. The English-speaking party enhanced both the interests and ability of the English lovers in using the language, promoted mutual understanding and cooperation and contributed to the building of a harmonious organization.

In his concluding speech in English, chairman Gao Wenzhi pointed out
that foreign languages learning in PDOC is an important and long-term
task. He hopes that everyone will actively participate in the ABFL activities in the new year to improve their professional skills, promote harmony and cooperation, achieve double-win in study and career and make fresh contributions to the sound and rapid development of the provincial commerce.
